About this viz: This bar chart shows self-reported handedness from Questionnaire 3 (2000-2002) and compares whether dominant handedness varied by the decade in which California Teachers Study (CTS) participants were born. As we can see in the chart, fewer CTS participants born in the early 1900s reported they were left-handed compared with nearly 10% of participants who were born from 1940 on.

This viz also leverages an image as the legend. The colors in the hands on the right size of the viz match the colors in the bar chart to denote whether the numbers represented are for left-handed or right-handed participants.
