Population pyramid of participant age at Questionnaire 6

About this viz: This population pyramid shows variations in the demographic distribution of Q6 non-responders (participants who did not complete the 6th California Teachers Study questionnaire) and Q6 responders (participants who did complete the 6th study questionnaire).

Two trends are visible in this viz. The first trend is that the number of Q6 non-responders is larger overall that the total number of Q6 responders; less than 50% of the eligible population completed the questionnaire. The second noticeable trend is that the distribution on the two sides of the pyramid is approximately aligned, except among the oldest group of participants. Participants 85+ were far less likely to respond to the questionnaire. In fact, the proportion of participants 85+ who responded to Q6 was approximately a third the size of the proportion of participants 85+ who didn't respond to the questionnaire.
