Rich
Pinder
Rich Pinder is the Program Manager for the California Teachers Study, and has been part of the Department of Preventive Medicine since 1982. Reflecting on the years, Rich says "I was offered a 2 month temporary position and I've been here ever since!" Experience in patient tracking and locating began his work with follow up, and his technology training facilitated branching out into relational database development and record linkage expertise. After beginning at UCSD in the early 70's, and a prolonged hiatus farming in the midwest, Rich finished up at USC with a BA in Interactive Instructional Video. An avid mountain biker and volunteer trail crew leader with the National Parks, he strongly maintains his best problem solving is accomplished on long climbs in the San Gabriel mountains of Southern California.
